Latest in-house corporate affairs moves

Here’s a round-up of the latest in-house corporate affairs moves:


Lloyds Banking Group has appointed FTI’s Andrew Walton to the position of Group Corporate Affairs Director, reporting directly to CEO Antonio Horta-Osorio.  Meanwhile, Lloyd’s, the insurance market, has hired former Finsbury Partner and Deutsche Bank UK Head of Communications Don Hunter to lead strategic communications.  George Gordon was appointed Communications Director at TSB, shortly before the announcement of CEO Paul Pester’s departure, while challenger bank Aldermore has recruited Alan Oliver as Head of External Communications.


Away from financial services, Beverly Lowry joined National Grid as their UK Head of Employee Communications, and Thames Water has appointed Sundeep Tucker to the new position of Director of Communications.  Leading outsourcer Capita has hired former HSBC comms chief Katja Hall as their new Corporate Affairs Director while Annabelle Chalker, previously of Capita, is set to join King’s College London in the newly created position of Director, Corporate Communications, reporting to Maxine Taylor.  


Michael Kissman, former Compass UK Corporate Affairs Director has joined InterContinental Hotels Group in a senior communications and public affairs role, and Gareth Hopley has joined Caffè Nero as their Head of Communications after seven years at Pizza Hut.  Finally, Rachel Whetstone has joined Netflix as their Chief Communications Officer and Nike executive Charlie Brooks has been announced as Manchester United’s new Director of Communications.
